Complete Martial Arts

Student

Five years of training at Complete Martial Arts, testing through the belt ranks to 3rd Degree Black Belt in Chun Kuhn Tae Kwon Do. The part that carried over to everything else is how the testing works: you don't move up because you put in the time, you move up when you can demonstrate the forms cleanly under pressure, in front of people, on a day you don't get to choose.

Highlights

  • 3rd Degree Black Belt in Chun Kuhn Tae Kwon Do
  • Five years of continuous training, 2021 to 2026

Tutoring · Summer 2026

FuturePath Academy

Lead Photographer

I spent a week at FuturePath Academy tutoring 5th and 6th graders in math, working with students on the fundamentals they needed before moving up a grade. A week is short enough that the useful thing is finding each student's actual gap quickly rather than working through a syllabus — someone stuck on fractions is often really stuck on division, and you get nowhere until you go back far enough to find it.

Highlights

  • Tutored 5th and 6th grade students in math over a one-week summer session
  • Worked through arithmetic and pre-algebra fundamentals
  • Adapted each session to the individual gaps students came in with

LSC Referee

Referee

I referee rec league soccer matches for Livingston Soccer Club, mostly younger age groups. The job is less about knowing the rulebook than about staying decisive with it — a call made late or hesitantly gets argued, and the same call made immediately usually doesn't, even when the players disagree with it.

Highlights

  • Refereed many Livingston rec league soccer matches
  • Officiating regularly since 2025

General Manager

As general manager I handle everything around the buzzer rather than at it — scheduling, rosters, and getting the team to tournaments. Most of the job is making practice actually useful: pulling packets that match what we're weak on, tracking who is covering which categories, and making sure newer players get reps instead of sitting behind the same four starters every week.

Highlights

  • Helped run bi-weekly meetings, including packet selection and practice format
  • Organized team rosters and tournament registration
  • Tracked category coverage across the roster to find gaps before tournaments
  • Onboarded new members with intro practice sessions
